The Porsche 918 Spyder has been tested for almost one million miles, and in order to celebrate the “event” the German based automaker has released a new video with the upcoming hybrid supercar. The footage posted below is showing the new Porsche 918 Spyder, in what is probably another prototype, while being tested in hot weather climate, so if you want to see the model in action, with some interesting exhaust sound, all you have to do is to scroll down and click play.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is coming with a 4.6 liter eight-cylinder engine, which will produce 608 HP, the same unit form the RS Spyder, which can be revved up to 9,150 rpm. The unit is backed up by an electric motor, fitted onto the front axle, which is generating 95 HP. The total output produced by the hybrid powertrain stands at 887 HP, which are being sent to the wheels through a seven-speed PDS. The Porsche 918 Spyder will weigh 1,640 kg and it will be officially presented to the public, in a world premiere, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
