Porsche has recently released a brand new video with the upcoming 918 Spyder, ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, where the hybrid supercar is expected to be officially unveiled in its final version.
The German based automaker Porsche has released a new video with the impressive 918 Spyder, placing it into the spotlights once again. The footage posted below is showing the hybrid supercar while being tested in Nevada’s hot weather and it’s focusing mostly on the vehicle’s lengthy development process which is almost at 1 million miles, in its prototypes.
As a quick reminder, the Porsche 918 Spyder will be powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine, which is producing 608 HP (447 kW) and 530 Nm of torque (391 lb-ft). The unit is backed up by two electric motors, generating 156 HP (115 kW) and129 HP (95 kW), each one powering an axle. The total output provided by the hybrid powertrain stands at 887 HP (661 kW) and at more than 800 Nm of torque (590 lb-ft), enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of more than 340 km/h (211 mph). The model will be able to travel on electricity alone for approximately 30 km (18.6 miles).
