[VIDEO] Porsche 918 Spyder spotted at Supercar Sunday
This brand new and very impressive Porsche 918 Spyder has recently made its way onto Supercar Sunday, where it managed to attract a lot of curious eyes and even more questions.
The Porsche 918 Spyder may have been officially unveiled, in its final production form, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, six months ago, but the hybrid supercar is still attracting a lot of curious eyes, wherever it’s being spotted. The newest appearance of a Porsche 918 Spyder has been made at Supercar Sunday, where bystanders quickly became enthusiast about seeing the supercar live.
Porsche will produce the 918 Spyder in just 918 units and each one is taking its power from a 4.6 liter V8 engine, backed up by two electric motors. The total output produced by this assembly stands at an impressive 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque, with 279 HP (208 kW) coming from the electric motors and 608 HP (453 kW) from the internal combustion engine. Porsche says that the 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds and it can reach a top speed of approximately 345 km/h (214 mph).
Like his father he was so fast, sometimes perhaps too fast. In pure natural speed and car control no driver could hold a candle to Alberto Ascari in the 1950’s.
