The German based automaker Porsche has recently released a teaser video with a 911 V8 prototype, which will be introduced soon.
A successor of the iconic 959 is being prepared by the car manufacturer and this will hit the market with an engine produced by Audi, a V8, and it will be known as the Porsche 911 V8, but before this will be introduced, the company has to make sure that everything is in its place and working just like it should. The first teaser with the new 911 V8 can be seen in the video posted below.
“I think seriously nobody had in mind to bring a car into production with an Audi V8 but it was just a test if such a concept could have a future. Lucky they kept on building flat six engines and I think that’s the heart of all 911s and this was definitely a good decision”, said the chief of Archive for the Porsche Museum, Dieter Landenberger.
As you probably remember, the Porsche 959 was produced between 1986 and 1989 in just 337 units, and the sports car had a rear-engine and all-wheel drive layout, coming with a two-door coupe body style. The twin-turbo 959 was the world’s fastest street=legal production car, thanks to its 2,847cc flat-6 engine, as the model was able to reach a top speed of 314 km/h (195 mph).
