The latest video where the new generation of the Porsche 911 is being promoted is showing us the other side of being a Porsche development driver, which isn’t so comfortable, with sandstorms, dirt roads, frozen transaxles and minus 40 degrees Celsius temperatures. But in the end, developing a new 911 after decades of experience makes everything worth and the customers and fans aren’t so easy to satisfy once they’ve gotten used to a high standard.
As a reminder, the new generation of the Porsche 911 (991) is being offered in two levels, the Carrera and the Carrera S. The Porsche Carrera is powered by a 3.4 liter flat-six engine which is developing a total output of 350 horsepower while the mightier Carrera S takes its power from the larger 3.8 liter flat-six unit which is generating 400 HP. Both engines are sending the power to the rear wheels through a standard seven-speed manual transmission, with a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK being available as an option.
