After it was introduced to the public last week, the all new Macan in its GTS livery has also made the video debut, preaching the model’s goodies ahead of the introduction of the all mighty Turbo.
The GTS is an upgraded take on the Macan S version, coming with subtle German-style design cues such as gloss/matte accents and 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels with a Satin Black flair. More important updates have been provided to the interior – the Porsche Communication Management system is standard with an eight-speaker hi-fi audio system and USB and AUX connectivity. Customers will also get leather/Alcantara sport seats and leather accents throughout the cabin. An optional Connect Plus module and optional LED headlights (with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus) complement the changes. The GTS can already be ordered at home in Germany starting at 73,400 euros and will hit the all-important US market – the largest premium auto market in the world – from March 2016 costing at least $67,200 (plus destination charges).
What is more important for the fans and customer base is the powerplant under the hood – an uprated take on the V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine now churning out 360 PS (265 kW) and 500 Nm (69 lb-ft) of torque. That’s good for a sprint of less than five seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) if the GTs is also packing the optional Sport Chrono package. Top speed is of 159 mph (255 km/h). The dynamics are complemented by the lowered ride height – 15 mm – and the beefier brakes using 360mm front and 330mm rear rotors. The GTS also comes standard with the 7-speed PDK transmission and a sports exhaust system to enhance the atmosphere.
