The German luxury sports automaker has announced its 928 grand tourer is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2017, hitting the Nürburgring’s AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix with some amazing and unique versions of the series.
The make is going to drop a recently and lovingly restored example of the V8-powered coupe, and it’s also going to grace the venue with the interesting four-door and convertible concepts for the 928 – the former being considered an early attempt at the introduction of a Panamera-like model. The four-door 928 concept was Ferry Porsche’s own idea, with conversion provided by American Specialty Cars – the unique variant has tiny clamshell doors for easier access to the coupe’s rather small back seats. The convertible was also a one-of-one variant that explored possibilities to grow the 928 family.
You can see in the video below and the gallery the quality of craftsmanship is impeccable, the cars being ready to hit the dealer lots if need be. In addition, we wished the company also delivered to the Oldtimer Grand Prix the shooting brake concept. The 928-4 was a gift from the company to Ferry Porsche for his 75th birthday – in a way a grandparent to the Panamera Sport Turismo.
