The Renault eDams team is again on point in the Formula E championship, with drivers Sebastien Buemi and Nicolas Prost currently first and third in the Driver’s Championship.
This means the French automaker had the necessary peace of mind for the race that took place in Paris recently, so the managers decided to celebrate with a parade of electric vehicles through the City of Light. The Renault eDams R.S. 16 race car and Zoe e-Sport Concept were the leads for this electric dream date. The drivers seem to know they are leading the formation – but we’re pretty interested in seeing an actual race between the concept and the racer, as Renault has claimed the hot hatch version of the Zoe can sprint to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.2 seconds.
The company introduced the Zoe e-Sport Concept at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, complete with hot hatch wide body, carbon fiber exterior panels and a stripped out interior for a gross weight of 3,086 pounds (1,400 kilograms), with 992 pounds (450 kg) of those actually belonging to the batteries. There are also two electric motors – one on each axle – for serious grunt: 456 horsepower (340 kilowatts) and 472 pound-feet (640 Newton-meters) of torque, which is enough to hit the electronically governed maximum speed of 130 mph (210 kph) in no more than 10 seconds.
