The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 has recently been proven to be quite fast on the famous German track, the Nurburgring, where the SUV managed to finish a lap in 8 minutes and 49 seconds dead.
The Nurburgring “queen” Sabine Schimtz, who basically grew up and lived all of her life on the German track in an M5 BMW taxi, has recently took the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 for a spin around the Ring and the results have made everyone’s day at the car company, with the massive vehicle managing to finish a lap in just 8 minutes and 49 seconds. As a small reminder, the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is powered by the same 6.4 liter HEMI V8 engine, which is developing a total output of 470 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 465 lb-ft. The massive engine is allowing the Grand Cherokee SRT8 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds and run a quarter mile in about 13 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 160 mph.
