Besides being a surprise appearance for another US automotive event, the Scion FR-S has been caught on camera at the Cars & Coffee car show in Irvine, California, over the past weekend.
The Scion FR-S which was filmed at Cars & Coffee was definitely attracting all the attention but besides being a nice appearance wherever it’s spotted, the Scion FR-S has also been caught drifting by Formula Drift driver, Ken Gushi, and cameras mounted on the sports car captured all the action at the Sodegura Forest Raceway in Chiba, Japan. Thanks mainly to YouTube and its uploaders, we are able to present both videos below, but before jumping to the action, here’s a little reminder.
The Scion FR-S is the “American” name for the Toyota GT-86 which was recently presented to the public at the Los Angeles Auto Show and at Tokyo Motor Show. The sports car is powered by a frount mounted high-revving 2.0 liter four-cylinder Subaru “borrowed” boxer engine with the company’s D-4S direct injection technology, mated to a manual transmission which is sending power to the rear wheels. The engine in the new Toyota GT 86 is developing a total output of 197 horsepower at 7.000 rpm and has a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) available at 6.600 rpm.
