Scion has recently released the first commercial with the FR-S model which has been named “Sport is Back”.
After it has made its official debut not that long ago as the “evil” twin of the Toyota GT 86 and the far cousin of the Subaru BRZ, the Scion FR-S is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with the car manufacturer launching its first commercial. As you can see from the video posted below this article, Scion is showing the FR-S racing and drifting through some curvy roads. This is probably the last time we will hear about the Scion FR-S in an official way, because the Japanese sports car will go on sale in June.
As a quick reminder, the Scion FR-S is powered by the Subaru borrowed 2.0 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder Boxer engine, equipped with Toyota’s D-4S direct injection system. The unit is developing a total output of 200 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 151 lb-ft available at 6,600 rpm. According to the car manufacturer, the engine in the Scion FR-S can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission in standard or to a six-speed automatic as optional. Prices for the Scion FR-S start at 24,930 USD.
