[VIDEO] See a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat trying to keep up with a BMW M5 E39 image

A drag race between a BMW M5 E39 and a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has been caught on camera recently and it has a surprisingly weird result.

Over these past few months, since the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has started its deliveries, we have seen some pretty impressive drag races as the world’s most powerful production four-door sedan, as it has been called, has been placed against a lot of powerful vehicles and it made their life a living nightmare. But every once in a while, you may spot an old BMW M5 E39 and think that this is a good opportunity to make another video but keep in mind that the car you are about to drag race may be significantly modified.

We actually have no clue on what the old BMW M5 had under its hood, but the result was staggering for the driver behind the wheel of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Chances are the BMW driver knew he was going to win the drag race but this may have come as a nasty surprise for the guy holding the wheel inside the American vehicle. Keep in mind that the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has a 6.2 liter V8 engine under its hood, which has been supercharged. This is also being used on the Challenger SRT Hellcat and it has a total output of 707 HP (527 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque, enough to allow it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in just over 3 seconds and a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph).

It really doesn’t matter. 1] The BMW would loose on top end (204mph]. and 2] if unmodded, the BMW will again loose. Last, even the owner of the Charger would even out the odds with the new Kenne Bell 4.1ltr supercharger, the BMW will again loose. So what is the point here, Charger hands down is the car to purchase and mod. It has the potential above the 1000hp, which was seen in the first edition 6.1ltr when it pushed 944rwHP on the dyno before the Mercedes tranny blew. All of this was done on the original internals. Even Hot Rod, when taking the engine apart, noted, this engine was designed for racing. Stick with a manufacture that knows how to build fast cars. That is not BMW. Go figure. The best that BMW could muster on the German ring track, was never in the top 10. While a basic Dodge, is the only car under 90,000 dollars, unmodded prove this point.
