A rare example of the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta has been taken drag racing recently and it has been caught on camera while shattering its opponents.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale is preferred over the new 488 GTB all day long by car addicts since this is still using the “old school” 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine instead of the new twin turbo 3.9 liter unit. But have you ever wondered what will such a ride look like in a drag race? Well, if so, than you have come to the right place because the video posted below is showing the Italian exotic ride go up against several vehicles.
Ferrari has officially pulled the wraps off the 458 Speciale Aperta just a few months before the 458 Italia has been replaced by the 488 GTB. The supercar has seen daylight in an official environment for the first time back in 2014, during the Paris Motor Show, and it is the roadster version of the previously unveiled 458 Speciale. The model has added 50 kg compared to the coupe because of the chopped roof bringing its dry weight to 1,340 kg. The hard top can be opened or closed in 14 seconds and this has also received some carbon fiber on the door panels and dashboard, along with forged 5-spoke wheels and the central stripe. Under its hood, we can find the 4.5L V8 unit rated at 597 HP (445 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes just 3 seconds and only 499 units of the model will be produced.
