A track day has went from good to a complete nightmare for this Mercedes-AMG GT after it has ended up being crashed.
Another example of the Mercedes-AMG GT has been involved in a not so fortunate incident where else but in South Africa. The clip posted below, shot by someone in the audience, was showing a zig-zag stunt during a customer presentation at the Zwartkops Raceway. Things didn’t go as planned and the Mercedes-AMG GT has hit what seems to be another AMG vehicle, a C63. No one was hurt in this crash and the clip posted below is showing the entire incident.
As you probably already know by now, the Mercedes-AMG GT is considered to be the successor of the SLS AMG. However, this is smaller, less powerful and cheaper than its predecessor and it is a competitor for the 911 and the F-Type. The sports car is being offered in a two-door coupe body style, with a front mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout. The model is sharing the same 4.0 liter V8 twin turbo engine with the C63 AMG. This is being offered in two versions, with 460 HP (340 kW) & 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) of torque, in the AMG GT, and with 503 HP (375 kW) & 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque in the AMG GT S. The first one needs 4.0 seconds to reach 100 km/h, with a 304 km/h (189 mph) top speed, while the other one can do it in 3.8s and it has a top speed of 310 km/h (190 mph).
