[VIDEO] See a Porsche 918 Spyder drive through London in electric mode
The Porsche 918 Spyder has been recently taken to London where it managed to cruise up and down the streets in complete silence.
Londoners are used to seeing exotic cars but usually before seeing them, they are usually hearing them roar their engines, so spotting an attractive new hypercar which is cruising the streets in complete silence was a true wonder for people. The star of the video posted below is the Porsche 918 Spyder, the company’s fastest production model and also its first hybrid supercar.
The Porsche 918 Spyder has been officially unveiled last year, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in its final production form. It is currently being assembled in 918 units in a roadster two-door body style, with a mid-engine and all-wheel drive layout. It stands at 4,643 mm long, 1,940 mm wide and 1,167 mm tall, weighing in at 1,700 kg. Power is coming from a 4.6 liter V8 engine and two electric motors, producing a total output of 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration is made in 2.6 seconds and the supercar can reach a top speed of 345 km/h (214 mph).
