A brand new Porsche 918 Spyder, finished in black, has been “showing off” at a track day event at Goodwood.
With Porsche delivering more and more units of the 918 Spyder, videos with them showing their capabilities are coming out almost daily and the newest one is showing us a black finished example at the annual Saywell Track Day event, at Goodwood, which is owned by Peter Saywell himself. The clip posted below is showing him driving the hybrid German supercar around the Goodwood Race Course.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is the most powerful road-legal supercar to wear the brand’s logos on its body. This is a hybrid model which is aiming towards the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 and it has been officially unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This is offered in a two-door roadster body style, with a mid-engine and an all-wheel drive layout.
Power is being provided by a 4.6 liter V8 engine, rated at 608 HP (453 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 528 Nm (389 lb-ft) of torque, backed up by two electric motors, delivering an extra 279 HP (208 kW). The total output produced by the assembly stands at 887 HP (661 kW) and 1,275 Nm (940 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the four-wheel drive through a seven-speed PDK dual clutch transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the hypercar needs just 2.6 seconds when equipped with the Weissach package, and it can go up to 340 km/h (210 mph).
