Famous petrol head Jay Leno has given some serious attention to its newest ride, the McLaren P1, which will now be protected from paint chips.
Every car owner knows just how annoying stone chips are, along with key scratches and bird poop, but these aspects should be automatically eliminated when buying your new ride. This is what exactly Jay Leno did to his yellow McLaren P1, which he had it all wrapped up in protective film. This is also avoiding windshield damage from small stones.
The first thing Jay Leno did when taking delivery of his British hybrid supercar was to call experts who applied a protective film over the body work. The video posted below is detailing the entire operation which definitely needs some steady hands and also a lot of patience. The result should be well worth it, though.
The McLaren P1 has been officially unveiled at the same time with one of its main rivals, the Ferrari LaFerrari, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This has a 3.8L twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, backed up by an electric motor. The assembly is producing no less than 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes just 2.8 seconds and top speed stands at 350 km/h (217 mph).
