Subaru has released the video in which the new WRX STI is setting a lap record on the Isle of Man.
After being officially presented to the public during the 2014 NAIAS, in Detroit, and then making its way to the Geneva Motor Show, the new Subaru WRX STI is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of a new video. The 2015 Subaru WRX STI has broken the lap record on the Isle of Man earlier this month and now the Japanese based automaker has released the clip with the challenging TT Mountain course.
Mark Higgins, the British rally champion, was behind the wheel in the 2015 Subaru WRX STI and he managed to finish the 29.5 km (27 mile) long course in just 19 minutes and 56.7 seconds, averaging a speed of 187.44 km/h (116.47 mph). The vehicle was equipped with the 2.5 liter four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engine, which is producing a total output of 306 HP (227 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque, available at 4,000 rpm, sent to the symmetrical AWD system through a 6-speed manual transmission.
