If you’re just as interested in the new Velar as we are – because the Land Rover premium offspring has managed to finally set the bar high in terms of design in the coupe-SUV niche, then you need to watch this.
The new Range Rover Velar is certainly a good contender for the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, both in terms of style and technology. The new mid-size crossover coupe-SUV from Land Rover is going to land in front of the worldwide audience of the Geneva Motor Show, but the British company has also prepared a new 15-minute “documentary” for those unable to attend the Swiss event. It comes with all the right perks – British actor Damian Lewis is the narrator – and it chronicles the Velar’s development from design to a fully functional vehicle. The overarching theme here is simplicity – as the video itself is called “The Crafting of Simplicity”.
With the Velar jam packed of six miles of wiring and with features such as flush door handles that use electronics to get deployed we can see some irony in calling this large vehicle simple. All things considered, fans will be pleased to get this interesting behind-the-scenes look at how the Velar went from being an original clay model to a full series production model. By the way, if you like this one – you might also be happy to know that in the summer there’s a new, longer 45-minute film coming out as well.
