[VIDEO] Six-wheeled Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG with 6WD shown in action

Mercedes-Benz has released a video showing a six-wheeled version of the G63 AMG, which is being presented as the ultimate off-road vehicle.

According to the German based automaker, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6WD is being produced in Graz, Austria, along with the regular G-Class and it was originally developed back in 2011 for the military. The impressive vehicle is coming with a four-door cabin and a six-wheel drive, along with a low range gearbox, a tire control system and a differential amongst others. The model has standard 37-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 18.1 inch, 9.8 inches higher than the regular G63 AMG.

The six-wheeled Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is based on the G63 AMG trim level, just like its name suggests, and this means the 5.5 liter twin turbo V8 engine is producing a total output of 544 HP and it has a peak torque of 560 lb-ft of torque. The unit is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission which is sending power to the six-wheel drive. Mercedes-Benz didn’t put an official price tag on the model but Axel Harries, the head of development of the G-Class line said that interested buyers have to pay no more than the 350,000 euros, which is the price of the SLS AMG Electric Drive. The announcement has been made in an interview with AutoWeek.
