The first seven-seater sport utility vehicle wearing the Skoda badge is scheduled for the official public unveiling on September 1 in Berlin, and the company is keeping our attention focused via the latest teaser.
The Czech marquee has decided to entice us with complete official images of the interior – the standard layout is using a five-seat arrangement, which means the available trunk space will go up to 2, 065 liters with the rear seats folded away. You can also pay extra for another pair of seats and we can tell you that even from the stills we imagine those won’t be crammed at all. Cargo capacity starts from 720 liters (25.4 cubic feet) when opting for the five-seater. And because we’re dealing with Skoda – there are a total of 30 ‘Simply Clever’ features, such as door edge protection, umbrellas, and ‘sleep headrests.’ The cabin design and layout does scream typical Skoda, but we think that embedded in the dashboard is a new generation infotainment system that is upgraded from what is used on the Octavia or Superb.
The released images probably depict a higher spec Kodiaq, as we can see LED ambient lighting, an optional Canton sound system, metallic trim and other features. The most probable engine for the mount is the 2.0-liter TDI, complete with six-speed manual gearbox and AWD. The engine should pack the usual 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts) & 251 pound-feet (340 Newton-meters) of torque or 190 hp (140 kW) & 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).
