A new ad released by Smart, for its ForTwo Electric Drive, has become viral, as the model in question is being placed against some expensive vehicles.
Did you ever wonder what a drag race between a smart ForTwo Electric Drive and a Mustang, an Audi or a Porsche would look like? Well, honestly, neither did we, but such a find couldn’t stay away in the dungeons of the web, considering the fact that it has been created by Daimler. The message is not that the small “green” car is faster or slower, is that in the city, top speed has nothing to do with anything, because “it’s the first 5 meters that count”.
As you probably figured it out by now, the Smart ForTwo Electric Drive is based on the old generation of the city car. The model in question has a 55 kW magneto electric motor and a 176 kWh lithium-ion battery. Thanks to this configuration, the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 11.5 seconds and top speed stands at 125 km/h (78 mph). The Smart ForTwo Electric Drive has a total range of 145 km (90 miles) and in the UK can be ordered from 12,275 GBP.
