The Nissan Leaf has just turned 1 year old and in order to celebrate its birthday, the Japanese based automaker has released a new video, where sockets are singing “happy birthday” to the EV.
Nissan is also thanking its Leaf owners for choosing to travel with zero emissions for 32 million miles and this cute commercial might be just what the automaker needs in order to sell even more units of the model. After being named the 2011 Car of the Year in the UK and the 2011 Car of the Year in Japan, the Nissan Leaf seems to be the best EV out there, and since the problems with the Chevrolet Volt’s batteries, more customers are turning towards the small Japanese vehicle.
As a reminder, the 2012 model year Nissan Leaf is coming with a warranty of 8 years or 100.000 miles for the advanced lithium-ion battery pack. Five exterior colors are available for the 2012 model, like the Cayenne Red, Super Black, Brilliant Silver, Blue Ocean and Glacier Pearl. Nissan is continuing to offer the Leaf with front-wheel drive and its motor is generation a total output of 107 horsepower, having a peak torque of 207 lb-ft and offering a range of 100 miles (160 km) per charge.
