New spy footage caught in Michigan has brought us the best look yet at the forthcoming Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – which is on the move alongside other fellow Corvettes in camouflage.
The video first shows a red ZR1 that seems to be the same one as examples caught in spy shots lurking around the Internet – and the model has a great growl attached to the cruising mode. We can see even through the camouflage its body has a completely reworked front end with lower fascia and bigger air intakes. The front fenders also look wider and there could also be a heat extractor if we interpret correctly that bulge in the hood. At the back we can see a huge wing – which is not something anyone can camouflage – while the bumper is also tweaked out.
The deep customizations to the body hint at the ZR1 being the top dog in the Corvette family – at least until that rumored mid-engined Vette’ arrives – and the rumor mill suggests it will sport under the hood about 700 horsepower from a reworked 6.2-liter supercharged V8. At the end of the clip we can also see a Corvette wearing just about the same camo as the ZR1 – but with a droptop, so we might be looking at the roadster version being revealed for the first time.
