Recently Rolls-Royce surprised everybody at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este with the introduction of the Sweptail bespoke coachbuild – considered the most expensive car in the world today.
This is a completely unique one-of-one model that came from the dream of someone who clearly has more money than everyone else – and of course enjoys the perks of anonymity. The Sweptail name is pretty self-explanatory and the elegant design features numerous modifications that remind us of the time when Rolls-Royce was almost making every single car unique in its own. The project actually kicked off back in 2013 and has a completely new and elongated rear that contrasts deeply with the front end – much to the chagrin of some. Inspiration came from luxury yachts and the Rolls-Royce Boattail Speedster from the 1930s.
Because it’s so unique, rumors around the mill put the commission at around $13 million for the very wealthy client – and it turns out he has no desire to be the only one that admires the creation. The Rolls-Royce has been taken on the roads across France and was spotted in Annecy, near Lyon and Bordeaux, as it made its way towards the United Kingdom. With such a unique design, we’re almost certain such events will be very rare from now on.
