An appealing example of the McLaren P1 finished in Volcano Red has been spotted recently in Calgary.
The McLaren P1 remains one of the hottest hypercars around and even if it has been officially unveiled more than two years ago, this is still attracting a lot of attention where ever it is making its appearance. This particular example of the British exotic ride has been caught on camera in a parking lot, in the south-west of Calgary, and, according to GT Spirit, its owner is racing in the Blancpain Super Trofeo series, in his Lamborghini Huracan.
McLaren has unveiled the P1 back in 2013, during the Geneva Motor Show, alongside one of its main rivals, the Ferrari LaFerrari, being followed by the Porsche 918 Spyder six months later, at Frankfurt. The P1 is considered to be the spiritual successor of the iconic F1 and this is the fastest road-legal product made by the company and also the most expensive one. The hypercar has a two-door coupe body style, getting a rear mid-engine and rear-wheel drive layout, taking its power from the upgraded 3.8 liter twin turbo V8, rated at 727 HP and 719 Nm of torque, along with an in-house developed electric motor, generating 176 HP and 260 Nm of torque. The total output put down stands at 903 HP and 978 Nm of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration made in less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).
