A couple of days after it has been officially unveiled, the 2015 Subaru WRX STI is ending up in our news once again, this time with the Japanese based automaker releasing a new video with the model. The footage posted below is showing the Subaru of America national manager Dominic Infante talk about the WRX STI, providing us with some pretty interesting performance details on the brand new model.
The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is taking its power from a 2.5 liter turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine, which is good for 306 HP (227 kW), at 6,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 393 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque, available at 4,000 rpm. The unit is mated to an updated 6-speed manual transmission which is sending power to the symmetrical AWD system with a multi-mode driver controlled center mechanical differential. Infante says that the new WRX STI can sprint to a top speed of 264 km/h (164 mph).
