A Subaru BRZ has been recently taken by its owner beyond its top speed at 244 km/h and the video posted below stands as evidence.
The Japanese based automaker Subaru says that the BRZ can only reach 230 km/h (143 mph) and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.6 seconds but the top speed has been recently pushed beyond that by an owner of the sports car to 244.6 km/h (152 mph). the top speed has been “GPS verified” according to the video posted below and the accomplishment was recorded on the Autobahn.
The Subaru BRZ is powered by a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder boxer engine, the same unit found on the Toyota GT 86 and on the Scion FR-S, fitted with Toyota’s D-4S direct injection system. The total output developed by the unit is 200 horsepower, available at 7,000 rpm, and 151 lb-ft of torque at 6,600 rpm. The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission in standard or to a six-speed automatic, which is available as an option. The Subaru BRZ is already available in most markets across the world, along with the Toyota GT 86 and its over-seas sister, the Scion FR-S.
