The Subaru BRZ has been recently taken to Autobahn where Japanese sports car has hit its top speed of 147 mph.
Even if taking a brand new sports car on the German Autobahn seems to be something made by the Japanese based automaker Subaru, the BRZ has actually been taken to the “no speed limit” road by one of its owners and, finding the video with the whole action on YouTube, made us want to share it.
“At the end of May I got a call from the Subaru dealership telling me my 2013 BRZ Limited had arrived and was ready for me to take delivery. After a grueling 1,000 mile break-in period I was looking forward to see what the car was capable of. I shipped the car to the autobahn to do some high speed runs in the car and attempt the top speed. The car is limited by its aerodynamics unfortunately so I had to get a good stretch which favored the car which allowed me to get up to 147 MPH”, as the owner of the sports car said.
As a quick reminder, the Subaru BRZ is available in two trim levels, the SE and the SE Lux, and the base version is getting standard features like the push-button start, dual-zone air conditioning, keyless entry, cruise control, electrically folding mirrors, leather gearlever, leather handbrake, ESP, iPod connectivity, six-speaker steror system, torque-sensing limited slip differential and 17-inch alloy wheels. Power to the Subaru BRZ is provided by the same engine found on the Toyota GT 86 and on the Scion FR-S, the Subaru developed 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit, which is producing a total output of 197 BHP, sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission in standard or through a six-speed automatic, available as an option.
