It’s not exactly the ideal name for a sub-compact crossover but it has been used before.
The Suzuki Baleno is here to stay. The car manufacturer has recently released a first teaser video and image with the upcoming model. This is a sub-compact crossover which is basically the production version of the iK-2 Concept, shown earlier this year, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It has received a more conservative design and this is good overall, considering the fact that it is a budget vehicle, with some serious competition in its class, including the Juke, the 2008, Captur, Mokka and so on.
The concept stood at 4,023 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,450 mm tall, riding on a 2,520 mm long wheelbase, so expect a similar size for the Baleno. Suzuki says that the new Baleno is coming with a spacious cabin with new technologies and with a wide engine range under its hood. Out of the many units, the carmaker has only mentioned the 1.0 liter BOOSTERJET direct injected gasoline burner, which we have no clue on how much it will be producing. Keep in mind that the new crossover has only been teased at the moment so if you came here looking to find out everything there is to know about it, you will be disappointed because you will have to wait for its public debut, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in mid-September, in order to learn some of its details.
