A Fast and Furious Mercedes-AMG GT S is the first 10-second car and it will make its “father”, the SLS AMG, quite proud.
It was obvious that some “speed fanatics” will modify a new Mercedes-AMG GT S in order to make it faster on a quarter mile and this particular model has managed to break into the 10-second region. Keep in mind that this is still a street-legal car so its performance is even more impressive. The sports car has received an ECU upgrade from Renntech, along with downpipes and sports cats. We are not sure exactly how much power this is producing but according to the tuner, this is only the start of the AMG GT tuning program.
Mercedes-Benz has pulled the wraps off the AMG GT in 2014 and this is the successor of the SLS AMG, despite being less powerful, smaller and cheaper. The sports car is currently being offered in a two-door coupe body style and it is taking aim at models such as the Audi R8, the Porsche 911 or the Jaguar F-Type. The model is coming in two versions, the AMG GT and the AMG GT S, both of them making use of the same 4.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine. This is capable of putting down a total output of 460 HP (340 kW) & 600 Nm (440 lb-ft) of torque and 503 HP (375 kW) & 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque. In standard form, the AMG GT S needs 3.8s to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and it has a top speed of 310 km/h (190 mph).
