McLaren has released yet another teaser video with the upcoming Sports Series, which will be officially presented to the public, in a premiere, during the 2015 New York Auto Show, next month.
After the official presentation of the 675LT has been made recently at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, where it is still on display, McLaren is currently planning on using the next major automotive event, from a different continent, in order to pull the wraps off the newest vehicle in the company’s lineup. We are talking about the Sports Series, which is currently teased in the video posted below, partially revealing its design from underneath its camouflaged body and revving its engine for the camera.
The brand new McLaren Sports Series will be an entry-level sports car which will go up against models such as the Porsche 911 or the Jaguar F-Type and rumor has it that this will be called the P13, once it will go official. The model will get a carbon fiber monocoque and a 3.8 liter twin turbo engine under its hood, which is also used on all of its brothers. This should produce a total output of more than 500 HP and it should be enough for a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint made in less than 4 seconds and a top speed of about 180 mph (290 km/h). Prices for the model should begin at 180,000 USD over-seas and the company is said to have a sale objective of 2,000 units in 2016.
