As we recently told you, the German tuner made a fulminating, yet very under the radar return to the automotive stage, with the Abarth 500 Corsa Stradale.
As we already told you, Zender is back in action with a comprehensive and beautiful kit for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Presented at the 2013 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in concept form, the Corsa Stradale has a very aggressive body kit and rides on 18-inch alloys, while also featuring a lowered adjustable sports suspension and a customized interior cabin with stainless steel pedals, illuminated door sill strips and custom sport seats.
Naturally, the most important changes are those we can’t see – the 4-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine has received an additional 76 bhp (57 kW) over the regular Abarth 500 so it now delivers an impressive 236 hp (176 kW) and 247 lb-ft (335 Nm) of torque. These necessary modifications included a larger turbocharger, tweaking the fuel injection with a bigger fuel pressure regulator and also updating the engine management. They also used modified camshafts and pistons along with a stainless steel exhaust – all these helped the concept achieve the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.5 seconds (0.7 s faster than the standard model) and a top speed of 232 km/h.
