Audi is really proud of their latest crossover and has prepared a massive teasing campaign – the latest one also finally brings the official confirmation that the model will indeed be called the Q2.
The latest short clip is actually something that looks taken from the previous one – the background appears to be the same, though this time around we’re being treated to a more down to Earth approach (the last one was a helicopter/drone aerial point of view). We can also see a bit of the front end where we can see the usual LED strip of daytime running lights is mimicking the design of the latest Audis. This one also wants us to know the Q2 will hold its ground even on rougher terrain – though we know this is all for marketing and crossover buyers rarely see anything else but tarmac during their driving careers. And the latest MQB-based model will anyways et front wheel drive as standard – so anyone looking for adventure needs to head up the price ladder to the feistier engines that will get an optional quattro all wheel drive system.
Powertrain options will represent the usual meal of turbocharged three- and four-cylinder engines, including the miniscule 1.0 liter seen in the Seat Ateca. There will be larger four-cylinder 1.4-liter TSI versions and the well known 1.6- and 2.0-liter TDIs units. Transmission options come in the form of a six speed manual and the seven-speed DSG. The design shouldn’t be a big surprise as most of us know how Audi treats that department – meaning the Q2 will probably look like a shrunk second generation Q7.
