While it comes from Spain, where winters are mild, this supercar project seems inspired by the Game of Thrones saga due to its name – Boreas is the Greek God of the North Wind and the Bringer of Winter.
We think it’s a fitting name, since the Boreas is looking to put its name on the hypercar throne – hopefully one easier to live with than the fantasy one. Details are scarce at the moment though – four-digit horsepower, meaning more than 1,000 hp (745 kilowatts) and an undisclosed type of engine linked to a hybrid setup. The electrified setup will thus have more than 1,000 hp (745 kilowatts) and the batteries will suffice for a pure electric range of around 62 miles (100 kilometers). The names behind the project are engineering company DSD Design and Motorsport and the mysterious powertrain – a custom build – is being created alongside a major name in the industry.
According to hints from the company, who says “we are quite avant-garde with the use of materials and their application,” we can imagine the hypercar will use lots of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials. Production is set to an exclusive run of just 12 units – Boreas himself had 12 sons and daughters – and each will be tailored specifically to the customer’s desires. The Boreas is just around the corner, because the official reveal will take place during the Le Mans festivities on June 14.
