Tamed by racing driver Sam Bird, the electric E-Tense concept has seemingly taken a stroll trip to Westfield London, literally cruising through the shopping mall.
The sleek and sporty DS E-Tense concept has been introduced not long ago – in spring at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show – and the company has decided to remind us of its existence. It came with a stylish design, as well as sports car credentials thanks to the 400-horsepower (298-kilowatts) electric motor souring power from lithium ion batteries that sit tucked beneath the carbon fiber monocoque chassis. With a special video in mind, DS has decided to enlist DS Virgin Racing driver Sam Bird to play a little with the E-Tense concept, while the upcoming DS 7 Crossback also happened to be around for a cameo appearance at the event in Westfield London – yes, the shopping mall.
The brand partnered with the Westfield London mall from hepherd’s Bush to showcase the E-Tense concept right next the flagship DS Urban Store. The concept car was even allowed to drive around inside the facility – though the public was absent as it was after the closing hours – in order to shoot for the aforementioned “Lock-In” film. “Giving a leading racing driver the green light to take a spin inside one of our centers was a real first but having built such a positive relationship with DS Automobiles over the past few years we wanted to help them create a standout moment to mark the UK debut of the DS E-Tense,” explained Paul Buttigieg, Westfield’s Director of Operations.
