And it has been previewed over the web ahead of its public debut set for the 2015th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show, next week.
After it has leaked just a few hours ago, the new generation of the Renault Megane has been revealed in similar images and it is showing us a completely new design for the popular compact vehicle which has nothing in common with the current generation and it is actually bringing it closer to the Clio. The C-segment fighter signed by Renault is now sitting 25 mm lower to the ground compared to its predecessor and it has bigger tracks, widened by 47 mm at the front and 39 mm at the rear.
The French based automaker is also saying that the wheelbase of the car has increased by 28 mm meaning that you should expect more room for the rear passengers. The rear overhang of the vehicle has been shortened and thanks to the chrome accents this has received a more upscale look. The GT version of the 2016 Renault Megane will be a sportier version of the car and it is bringing the new Iron Blue paint, the modified front bumper with a larger air intake, a honeycomb pattern for the grille, more aggressive air scoops and much more.
The Renault Megane GT is also bringing the special badging, the Dark Metal touches found on the side mirror caps, the rear diffuser, the double chrome exhaust tips and the 18-inch wheels with a Renaultsport design.
No details on the engine lineup have been announced so far but we are expecting the usual 1.2 TCe, the 1.5 dCi, the 1.6 dCi and several other units. Additional details on the new-gen Renault Megane are limited at this point and will be announced during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in just a few days.
