Top Gear’s Season 17 Episode 2 is now available. In this episode: the boys are in Italy to test high-performance hatchbacks.
This time Clarkson is in the Citroen DS3 Racing edition, Hammond is in the Fiat 500C Abarth and James May is in the Renaultsport Clio 200 Cup as they navigate their way round baffling Italian towns and take part in a scavenger hunt.
However, on this episode Jeremy takes the new McLaren MP4-12C for a ride.
Now, for those who don’t know, the MP4-12C is the first supercar produced and designed entirely by McLaren since the McLaren F1, which for a long time held the record for the fastest production car in the world. It was unveiled for the first time at the end on 2009 and costs £168,500.
Talking about technology and performance, well we have hydraulically supported and connected suspension, adaptive dampers, a little under 600bhp, 1301kg dry, carbon tub, optional ceramic brakes, brake assist, twin turbochargers…
