Top Gear’s Season 18 Episode 1 is now available. In this episode: We have three supercars – the Lamborghini Aventador, the McLaren MP4-12C and the Noble M600.
Jeremy, Richard and James Travel to Italy for a Supercar Shootout in the Lamborghini Aventador, the McLaren MP4-12C and the Noble M600.
Their trip starts at the incredible Nardo test track – the high-speed test track located near the town of Nardò, Italy, in the southern region of Apulia.
The journey concludes at the legendary Imola circuit, a track challenging enough to have embarrassed many an F1 driver, with a timed challenge against the incredible skills of the Stig.
In case you don’t know, the Lamborghini Aventador was unveiled for the first time on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. Designed to replace the ten-year-old Murciélago, the supercar sports an all-new 6.5-litre V12 engine that is capable to generate ‘only’ 700bhp.
In addition the vehicle gets Lambo’s new ISR transmission, claimed to be faster and ‘more emotional’ than a dual-clutch system. [more about the Aventador]
The McLaren MP4-12C was unveiled on 8 September 2009, and was launched in 2011. Based around a resin-transfer-moulded carbon-fibre tub, with aluminium sub-frames at each end, the British supercar is powered by a new, 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged, dry-sump V8 designed by McLaren and built by Ricardo in Shoreham, Sussex.
