Toyota has released a new promotional video with its GT 86 sports car revealing the DNA of the vehicle before the model in question was produced.
The Toyota GT 86 is already available in several markets but that doesn’t mean that the Japanese based automaker should stop promoting it and what better way to place it into the spotlights once again than by releasing a new video with it. The Toyota GT 86 has been officially presented to the public in a world premiere in late 2011 and the model is sold in the United States as the Scion FR-S. The GT 86 is also “related” to the Subaru BRZ.
As a quick reminder, the Toyota GT 86 is powered by the same engine as the Subaru BRZ or the Scion FR-S, which is the 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol unit, borrowed by Subaru and fitted with the company’s D-4S direct injection. The petrol engine is developing a total output of 187 horsepower, at 7,000 rpm, and it has a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), available at 6,600 rpm. The unit is mated to a six-speed manual in standard, or to a six-speed automatic, which will be available as an option.
