The all-new Toyota GT86 sports car has been recently placed against the famous AE86 by the guys at Auto Express Magazine.
The Toyota GT 86 has been considered by many to be the nephew of the famous Toyota AE86 but no one has put the two vehicles together in a test drive until now. The British journalists at Auto Express Magazine have recently taken the AE86 and placed it against the new GT86 on a race track and, even if the two models are separated by decades, you will be surprised by the result.
As a quick reminder, the all-new Toyota GT 86 sports car is powered by the same engine as its over-seas sister, the Scion FR-S or the Subaru BRZ, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol unit, developed by Subaru and fitted with the Toyota D-4S direct injection. The car manufacturer says that the model is developing a total output of 187 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), available at 6,600 rpm. The unit is getting a six-speed manual transmission in standard or a six-speed automatic as an option. You can watch the Toyota GT 86 go against the AE86 below. Enjoy!
