The guys from Auto Guide have recently made the first drive review with the brand new Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV).
The future of cars looks different with most petrol heads and if some state that electricity is the way, with different batteries which can recharge faster and provide a better range than current ones, others will militate for alternative fuels, such as hydrogen. But is this really a solution? Well, since Toyota has officially pulled the wraps off the Mirai Fuel Cell Vehicle a few weeks back, and since the model is already available for grabs in the United States, the guys from Auto Guide are trying to answer some difficult questions.
The Toyota Mirai FCV has a starting price of 57,500 USD, over-seas, but after the state and federal incentives will drop to less than 45,000 USD. You can also grab it for 499 USD a month, for 36 months, with 3,649 USD at signing. If this has caught your attention, you should be in for a big wait, because less than 200 will become available, next fall. The availability will expand to the Northeast by the end of 2017. The Mirai has a range of 300 miles (483 km) and refilling its tank with hydrogen will take less than 5 minutes.
