A BMW 1M Coupe has recently received a magnificent engine under its hood, a V8, which is making this pocket rocket even more impressive.
When it first entered the market a few years back, a lot of people have compared the BMW 1M Coupe with the original BMW M3 E30 but it seems that this hasn’t been enough for the carmaker which has decided to pull the plug on the model not long after production has started. But there are a few lucky owners of such a model who still get to enjoy their rides, like the one in the video posted below, which has swapped its engine.
The BMW 1M Coupe in question has dropped its 3.0 liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine, which used to generate 340 HP at 5,900 rpm and 500 Nm of torque, available at 1,500 rpm, for a more potent 4.0 liter V8 unit, from the previous M3 generation. This unit is capable of producing no less than 414 P (309 kW) at 8,300 rpm and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, at 3,900 rpm. The standard 1M Coupe can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.9 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) so the modified one is definitely faster.
