Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel has helped introduce the newest prancing horse supercar to Maranello, the 488 GTB.
In case you were wondering how much time you will have to wait before seeing the brand new 488 GTB on the streets or, even better, in your garage, the answer is not long, because the Italian based automaker is currently introducing it in Maranello. But since we are talking about Ferrari, expect a fancy dinner, a good speech and none other than Sebastian Vettel promoting the newest read mid-engined and rear-wheel drive supercar.
This has been the world debut of the Ferrari 488 GTB but this will also be brought to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, where it will be visible for the public starting from the 3rd of March. The supercar is currently the replacement of the 458 Italia and it is not a new generation or a completely new successor but rather a facelift, a significant one.
Besides the usual tweaked front and rear fascias, the Ferrari 488 GTB is also packing the brand new 3.9 liter V8 turbo engine under its hood, which is replacing the old 4.5 liter naturally aspirated V8. This is rated at 670 HP (493 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque, at 3,000 rpm. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint takes 3 seconds and top speed is now 330 km/h (205 mph). No pricing details have been announced yet.
