[VIDEO] Volkswagen Golf 7 gets 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP

The new generation of the Volkswagen Golf 7 has recently received a 5-star safety rating during the latest Euro NCAP crash tests.

After it was officially presented to the public a couple of months ago during the 2012 Paris Motor Show, and with the model getting ready to hit the market this year, the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf, the MK7, is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time by Euro NCAP. The European safety specialists have tested the new Golf generation and the popular hatchback has managed to receive an over-all 5-star safety rating.

According to Euro NCAP, the 2013 Volkswagen Golf 7 has received 94 percent in adult occupant protection and 89 percent in child occupant protection. Pedestrians aren’t well protected by the new Golf generation, which managed to score just 65 percent in this category. 71 percent were received by the hatchback in Safety Assist and the overall rating stands at 5 stars. The model tested was a 1.2 TSI Comfortline LHD, which weighs 1,205 kg, but the rating applies for all versions of the new Golf.
