Volkswagen has recently released the first promotional video with the recently unveiled Golf GTE, which is close to becoming one of the popular hot hatches on the market.
The Volkswagen Golf GTE has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, just last week, and it’s coming with some lines from both the e-Golf and the new GTI. The car manufacturer has fitted this model with the 6.5-inch Composition Media radio system or wih the Discover Pro optional navigation system and it’s getting a driving range monitor, 360 degree driving range, zero emission statistics, energy flow display and others.
Volkswagen has fitted the Golf GTE with a 1.4 liter TSI turbocharged petrol burner, rated at 148 HP (110 kW), backed up by an electric motor, which is providing an extra 101 HP (75 kW). The total output produced by the assembly is 201 HP (150 kW) and 349 Nm (258 lb-ft). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is made in 7.6 seconds and top speed stands at 217 km/h (135 mph). The Golf GTE is burning 1.8 liters of fuel every 100 km (157 mpg UK / 130 mpg US) and it’s emitting 35 g/km of CO2. The overall driving range is 940 km (584 miles).
The German based automaker Volkswagen is not planning to introduce a successor of the Eos model, an announcement which has been made by the company’s technical boss.
