The brand new Volkswagen Golf 7 R has been spied on the Nurburgring once again, during the latest testing sessions.
The Volkswagen Golf R, in its new generation, is the most powerful production version of the popular hatchback ever and the model is currently being tested and prepared for its future customers. The latest spy video is showing the new Volkswagen Golf R on the Nurburgring, in action, and, despite its camouflaged body, we can still see that dual exhaust system, the overall aggressive design and some other tweaks, which are hinting at the model which is more powerful than the GTI Performance.
The 2015 Volkswagen Golf R is expected to be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine. The unit should produce more than 300 BHP (224 kW) and this will be sent to the all-wheel drive system. The new generation of the Golf R is 100 kg heavier than the new GTI, while the previous one was 150 kg heavier than the Golf 6 GTI. This will be “transformed” into better handling and more power. The brand new VW Golf R is expected to make its way onto the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, where the model might be officially unveiled, in September.
