[VIDEO] Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan scores 5 stars from Euro NCAP
The brand new Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan has managed to score a maximum 5-star safety rating during the latest crash tests performed by Euro NCAP.
The official successor of the Volkswagen Golf Plus, the new Golf Sportsvan, has managed to achieve a maximum 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP. The model in question has scored 87 percent in Adult Occupant protection, 85 percent in Child Occupant protection, 62 percent in Pedestrian safety and 73 percent in the Safety Assist category, making it one of the safest vehicles in its segment.
The full 5-star safety rating will play a key role in attracting more customers into the MPV and the most points lost in the Adult Occupant protection were in the side pole impact, where the chest seen a “Marginal” protection. In the Pedestrian Safety, problems were seen with the front part of the hood and the side parts of the windscreen. The missing Lane Support systems made it lose points in the Safety Assist category but it won points with other safety gizmos. The tested car was a VW Golf Sportsvan 1.6 TDI Comfortline.
