The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently released a new commercial video where the Jetta Hybrid is being promoted.
The new generation of the Volkswagen Jetta, sale in its Hybrid version, medical has been presented to the public at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, and since then, the car manufacturer has been looking into a new way of promoting it in the United States and what better way of doing that than by releasing a commercial video. First time when I’ve seen this video the Renault Fluence commercial has popped into my head and it seems that Volkswagen is keeping a close eye on its competition. But that’s not a good thing in this case because the similarity in the two videos is just too much.
The Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is powered by a 1.4 liter petrol turbo engine which is developing a total output of 150 horsepower and it has a peak torque of 249 Nm (184 lb-ft), which is helped on the way by an electric motor to offer a combined output of 170 horsepower. The 0 to 60 mph acceleration takes less than 9 seconds and the model is offering a combined 45 mpg (5.2l/100km). The model is equipped with a seven-speed DSG transmission which can also help the model run on the electric motor exclusively for 1.2 miles up to 44 mph. The model weighs only 100 kg (221 lbs) more than the regular model.
