This is certainly not a “sheep in wolf’s clothes” because the VW Korama is based on the capable VW Amarok and has been styled as a bespoke concept by none other than the man responsible for the Mad Max: Fury Road vehicles.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has already had the facelifted VW Amarok out and about for some time now, and now the refreshed utility truck is coming to Australia. Because the Land Down Under is home to some of the craziest (and marvelous) car creators, VW has decided the V6-powered version needs a more apocalyptic look inspired by the cars from 2015’s best action flick – Mad Max: Fury Road. So, the sinister military exterior with arctic camouflage wrap was actually the work of the same person responsible for designing the vehicles for the fourth movie in the series.
“Korama,” the one-off Amarok has a complete battle armor – the pickup truck was disassembled to the chassis to make way to the custom bodywork. The concept was then taken by professional drivers across the country – and by the way, the V6 Amarok facelift is already a smashing success in Australia with 7,300 orders placed even before the model’s arrival. The model has a turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6 packing 224 horsepower (165 kilowatts) and 406 pound-feet (550 Newton-meters) of torque.
